CHALMETTE (June 27, 2016) —  Rotolo’s Pizzeria, the growing Louisiana-based restaurant chain with a reputation for fresh ingredients and friendly service, opened its 34th location at 8109 West Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette La., on June 27th.

Sandy Alphonso co-owns the new restaurant with her husband, Peter. As a long-time resident of St. Bernard Parish, she knows that Rotolo’s and Chalmette will be a perfect fit.

“My husband and I loved eating at the Slidell location,” Alphonso said. “We loved the food and atmosphere so much that we are excited to share it with our family, friends and fellow neighbors.”

The Chalmette location is at the forefront of an expansion initiative. After additional refinements to its menu and operations, Rotolo’s is ready to grow in a big way. New locations in Longview, Texas, and in Baton Rouge at Burbank Drive & Ben Hur Road are scheduled to open before the fourth quarter of this year.

The Alphonsoes aren’t strangers to the restaurant business in St. Bernard Parish. Sandy grew up working in her family’s restaurant, Buddy’s BBQ. Peter’s parents owned and operated Pete’s Café.

“At my family’s restaurant, I saw that people love to eat where the staff truly gets to know them and makes them feel welcome. We will make sure to keep the experience personable,” Alphonso said.

The Alphonsoes’ ideas of service extend beyond the walls of their restaurant. They are excited about partnering with local organizations to produce fundraisers and community service projects.

“We are going to be a positive business in our community,” Alphonso said. “We will strive to make Rotolo’s a positive force by helping make St. Bernard Parish the best that it can possibly be.”

The Chalmette, La. Crew

Everything on Rotolo’s menu is made to order with the freshest ingredients, homemade sauces and dough made daily. Alphonso believes that the high-quality approach fills a hole in the Chalmette market.

“We love the fact that Rotolo’s uses real cheese. It makes such a tremendous difference in the taste of the pizza,” Alphonso said. “Our community is use to having to order most of their pizza from area fast food chain places that use pizza cheese.”

The 2,757 square-foot restaurant features a game room – with an air hockey table and three claw machine – and a video poker area. Fifteen large screen televisions allow customers to watch their favorite teams from any table.

“We are excited to provide our community with a great place to eat. Rotolo’s offers good, affordable food with a small-town atmosphere. We look forward to being the restaurant that everyone wants to bring the family.”

Rotolo’s Pizzeria will be open from 11 a.m., seven days a week. To place carryout or catering orders, call (504) 279-5500 or order online at http://www.rotolos.com.
