Popular pizzeria to celebrate grand re-opening with new menu and updated restaurant design June 22

Shreveport, LA  (RestaurantNews.com)  Rotolo’s fans in Shreveport will be among the first to experience the popular pizzeria’s revolutionary new prototype – Craft & Crust.

Locally owned and operated by John & Jennifer Psalmonds, the Rotolo’s restaurant located at 1409 E. 70th St. in Shreveport, recently closed for business during its massive remodel project and is re-opening on Friday, June 22, as a Rotolo’s Craft & Crust.

The Baton Rouge-based pizzeria known for its good food, good vibes and no bullsh*t is celebrating its grand re-opening on Friday with an official giant pizza and ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and other city officials beginning at 10:30 a.m. That’s right … the Big Cheeses will be cutting, and biting into, a massive pizza loaded with toppings to celebrate the occasion in style.

Doors will open to the public at 11 a.m., but pizza lovers will want to get to the restaurant early because the first 25 customers in line ages 13 and older will receive a Very Important Pizza Lovers box, complete with a Rotolo’s t-shirt, koozie, pop socket and FREE pizza voucher.

“We are really excited to bring our new prototype to Shreveport – the third Craft & Crust system-wide – and look forward to celebrating with the community on Friday,” said Mitch Rotolo Jr., Vice President of Research & Development. “Rotolo’s Craft & Crust embraces our founding spirit, in all of its grit and honest charm. It has an innovative new menu, 34 beers on tap and an updated restaurant design featuring a Slice Bar. We can’t wait to share these exciting changes with everyone, I have no doubt that fans and newcomers alike are going to love it.”

The new menu features options like the Chicago Style Deep Dish and the 13-inch Stone Crafted Pizzas cooked at 600 degrees in an Italian stone deck oven. Several of these new pizzas have won international awards. The Figgy Piggy – pulled mozzarella, fig spread, prosciutto, gorgonzola, shaved asiago, oil and balsamic reduction – recently took home the gold medal during the Food Network’s “Pi Champions Challenge.” The menu also includes a variety of salads, hot and cold sandwiches, Italian entrées and Rotolo’s famous calzones to satisfy all palettes.

Rotolo’s talented chefs make dough from scratch, fresh daily at each location. They also take the time to craft their own sauces and hand cut fresh veggies. That’s why every pizza, pasta, salad, sandwich, soup and calzone served is bursting with authentic flavor. Rotolo’s food is so good, that they took home gold at the World Pizza Games in 2016 and 2018.

Rotolo’s Craft & Crust is all about unwinding after a long day, hanging with friends and family and forgetting the rat race. So be sure to stop by the new Shreveport location, take a load off and have a local brew or two while Rotolo’s fixes you up something new.
